WAHA High Performance 16 (2008), 17 (2007) Tryouts
Cornerstone Community Center in De Pere on April 13-14

Players have to be nominated by their High School Section Committee and or their Tier 1 Hockey Program to be placed in the WAHA Draft to represent the best of the best in the WAHA HP 16 (2008) and 17 (2007) State Festivals on Saturday and Sunday April 13-14 at the Cornerstone Community Center in De Pere. Please note that being nominated does not automatically guarantee a player will be selected in the WAHA Draft.

The WAHA Draft will take place after the conclusion of the high school section seeding meetings on or before Sunday February 11th. Both birth-year 16 and 17 state festivals will each select approximately 54 players (6 goalies 18 defenseman and 30 forwards) in the WAHA Draft.


The player’s names that are selected in a WAHA Draft will be posted on the WAHA homepage at www.wahahockey.com with a deadline to get registered and submit their tryout fee to hold their roster spot in the WAHA HP 16 or HP 17 State Festivals. Player Families will go directly to the WAHA homepage, click their player’s name and submit their registration and online fee ($165).

On or before Sunday April 7th, the WAHA www.wahahockey.com homepage will display the selected player’s names and their group check-in times for their respective birth-year festival on Saturday April 13. Both WAHA HP 16 & HP 17 State Festivals will begin either midday or early afternoon on Saturday April 13th and conclude after their respective All Star Games on Sunday afternoon April 14th.

All drafted players must be registered with USA Hockey. If not, click HERE to register.

Player families must use a credit card, debit card or a visa gift Card to register for the tryout. No cash or checks will be accepted. No walk-ins will be accepted and no refunds.


Players must tryout at the position they were drafted. No exceptions.

Approximately 20 players (7D, 11F, 2G) will be selected from each WAHA HP 16 & 17 State Festivals to represent Wisconsin at the Central District Festival on May 10-12 at Iowa (Location TBA). The selected players from the WAHA State Festivals will have their names posted on www.centraldistricthockey.org where player families can click their player’s name to register and submit their tryout fee ($185). The Wisconsin players will be competing with players from IL, MO, MW, IA, KS & NE) to advance to a USA Hockey National Player Development Select 16 or 17 Camps.

The Wisconsin players will be competing with players from IL, MO, MW, (IA, KS & NE) to advance to a USA Hockey National Player Development Select 16 or 17 Camps. Wisconsin players that are selected to a USA Hockey National Player Development Camps will also have their names posted on www.centraldistricthockey.org and USA Hockey will handle all communications, going forward. The USA Hockey National Select 15, 16 & 17 Camps dates and locations are posted back on page 1.

Wisconsin players that are selected from the Central District HP 16 or 17 Festival to a USA Hockey National Player Development Camp will have their names posted at www.centraldistricthockey.org. USA Hockey will handle all communications with the player families going forward.
