The 2025 WAHA Boys High Performance 16 (2009), 17 (2008) State
Festivals to be held at the Hudson Wisconsin Sports & Civic Center on April 18-19

Players must be nominated by their High School Section Committee or their Tier 1 Hockey Program to be in the WAHA Draft. Players must then be selected from the WAHA Draft to represent the best of the best in the WAHA HP 16 (2009) and 17 (2008) State Festivals which will be held on Friday and Saturday April 18-19 at the Hudson Wisconsin Sports & Civic Center. Please note that being nominated for the WAHA Draft does not automatically guarantee a player will be selected in the WAHA Draft.  

The WAHA Draft will take place in the days following the conclusion of the high school section seeding meetings. The WAHA Draft will select 54 players born in 2009 at the following positions: 6 goalies, 18 defenseman and 30 forwards. Likewise the WAHA Draft will also select 54 players born in 2008 at the following positions: 6 goalies, 18 defenseman and 30 forwards. Drafted players will be posted on the WAHA website homepage at www.wahahockey.com on or before February 28 to begin player registration for the April 18-19 State Festival in Hudson Wisconsin.


The player’s names that are selected in a WAHA Draft will be posted on the WAHA homepage at www.wahahockey.com with a deadline to get registered and submit their tryout fee to hold their roster spot for the WAHA HP 16 (2009) or HP 17 (2008) State Festivals. The Player Families will go directly to the WAHA homepage, click their player’s name, register & submit the online fee ($150)

On or before Sunday April 13th, the WAHA www.wahahockey.com homepage will display the selected player’s names and their group check-in times for their respective birth-year festival. Both WAHA HP 16 & HP 17 State Festivals will begin early afternoon on Friday April 18th and conclude after their respective All Star Games on Saturday afternoon April 19th.

Player families will have one over-night stay Friday evening and arrive back home Saturday afternoon or evening.

Player families must use a credit card, debit card or a visa gift card to register for the tryout. No cash, no checks, no walk-ins and no refunds.
Players must register and tryout at the same position they were drafted. Players will not be allowed to switch positions at check-in.

Approximately 20 players (2G, 7D, 11F) will be selected from each WAHA HP 16 (2009) and 17 (2008) State Festivals to represent Wisconsin at the USA Hockey Central District Festival to be held on May 16-18
at the Cornerstone Community Center in Green Bay. The selected players from the WAHA State Festivals will have their names posted on www.centraldistricthockey.org where player families can click their player’s name to register and submit their tryout fee ($185).The Wisconsin players will be competing with players from IL, MO, MW, (IA, KS & NE) to advance to a USA Hockey National Player Development Select 16 and 17 Camps.
 

The Wisconsin players that are selected to the USA Hockey National Player Development Camps will have their names posted on www.centraldistricthockey.org and USA Hockey will handle all communications going forward. The USA Hockey National Select 15, 16 & 17 Camps dates and locations will be posted back on page 1.
